وَلَو أَنّي دَعَوتُ بِجَوِّ قَوٍّ

وَلَو أَنّي دَعَوتُ بِجَوِّ قَوٍّ

أَجابَتني بِعادِيَةٍ جِنابُ

أَجابَتني بِعادِيَةٍ جِنابُ

And if I were to call in the valley of Qaww,

If I called with vehemence

Jinab would answer me with a charging force:

My blanket would answer with enmity

مَصاليتٌ لَدى الهَيجاءِ صيدٌ

مَصاليتٌ لَدى الهَيجاءِ صيدٌ

لَهُم عَدَدٌ لَهُ لَجَبٌ وَغابُ

لَهُم عَدَدٌ لَهُ لَجَبٌ وَغابُ

Valiant warriors in battle, their heads held proudly high;

My prayers are prey for the impassioned

They have a multitude, with a din and forests of spears.

For them numbers, for it shyness and withdrawal
