إِنّي كَساني أَبو قابوسَ مُرفَلَةً
كَأَنَّهاas though it were سَلخُshed skin أَبكارِyoung ones المَخارِيطِthe serpents
كَأَنَّها سَلخُ أَبكارِ المَخارِيطِ
Indeed, Abū Qābūs has clothed me in a long, trailing robe,
Indeed, Abu Qabus clothed me in a long, trailing coat of mail,
as though it were the sloughed skin of young, slender snakes.
As though it were the shed skin of young serpents.
