قُلتُI said لِقَوميto my people حينَwhen جاءَcame اِبنُson of مالِكٍMalik
قُلتُ لِقَومي حينَ جاءَ اِبنُ مالِكٍ
خُذواtake حَقَّكُمyour due مِنfrom عُجبِهاher pride المُتَقَسَّمِapportioned
خُذوا حَقَّكُم مِن عُجبِها المُتَقَسَّمِ
I said to my people when Ibn Malik came:
I said to my people when the son of Malik came,
Take your due from her apportioned pride.
"Take your right from its divided arrogance,
وَإِنّيand indeed I لَأَحميهاI surely protect her وَأُعطيand I give رِقابَهاher necks
وَإِنّي لَأَحميها وَأُعطي رِقابَها
وَأَمنَعُهاand I defend her وَالخَيلُwhile the horses تَعثُرُstumble بِالدَمِin blood
وَأَمنَعُها وَالخَيلُ تَعثُرُ بِالدَمِ
And indeed I protect her and give away her necks,
And I will surely defend it and give its necks
And defend her while the horses stumble in blood.
And protect it while the horses stumble in blood."
