قالواthey said اِكشِفِunveil الحالَthe state المُغَطّىthe concealed
قالوا اِكشِفِ الحالَ المُغَطّى
فَالمَشاهِدُfor the visions فيهِwithin it خَطُّa written line
فَالمَشاهِدُ فيهِ خَطُّ
They said, “Unveil the concealed state,
They said "Uncover what's concealed,"
for the visions within it are a written line.”
But unintended glimpses leave their mark.
فَأَجَبتُso I replied مَنwhoever عَقلَunderstood الجَواthe answe- (continued in the next line)
فَأَجَبتُ مَن عَقلَ الجَوا
بَ-r (completes “answer”) بِأَنَّthat سَتَرَconcealing الحالِthe state شَرطُa condition
بَ بِأَنَّ سَتَرَ الحالِ شَرطُ
So I replied to whoever understood the answer
I answered those who understand fate's laws
that concealing the state is a condition.
That modesty's veil is wise and kind.
