تَفَرَّقَdispersed عَنّيfrom me العاذِلونَthe reproachers وَأَجمَعواand they agreed
تَفَرَّقَ عَنّي العاذِلونَ وَأَجمَعوا
عَلىon أَنَّthat سُلوانيmy forgetting هَواكَlove for you مَحالُimpossible
عَلى أَنَّ سُلواني هَواكَ مَحالُ
The reproachers parted from me and agreed
My censurers have left me, all agreeing
That it is impossible for me to forget my love for you.
That my love for you is utterly hopeless.
وَلَوand had وَجَدواthey felt وَجديmy longing عَلَيكَfor you لِأَيقَنواthey would surely have known
وَلَو وَجَدوا وَجدي عَلَيكَ لِأَيقَنوا
بِأَنَّof the fact that هُدىguidance السالينَthose who forget عَنكَabout you ضَلالُmisguidance
بِأَنَّ هُدى السالينَ عَنكَ ضَلالُ
And had they felt my longing for you, they would surely have known
Had they but felt the passion that consumes me,
That the guidance of those who forget you is misguidance.
They would know that to cease loving you is to be lost.
