دَورُ الوُجودِ لِعَيني

دَورُ الوُجودِ لِعَيني

بُكَورِهِ قَد تَسَلسَل

بُكَورِهِ قَد تَسَلسَل

The cycle of existence, to my eye,

has unfolded in sequence through its turning.

كَما لِآخِرِ آنٍ

كَما لِآخِرِ آنٍ

تاليهِ يُصبِحُ أَوَّل

تاليهِ يُصبِحُ أَوَّل

Just as, for the final moment,

its successor becomes the first.

وَذا مِثالٌ قَريبٌ

وَذا مِثالٌ قَريبٌ

عَنهُ البَعيدُ مُغَفَّل

عَنهُ البَعيدُ مُغَفَّل

And this is a near example,

of which the distant one is heedless.

وَلَيسَ في الحَقِّ شَيءٌ

وَلَيسَ في الحَقِّ شَيءٌ

بِباطِلِ الحَقِّ يُبطَل

بِباطِلِ الحَقِّ يُبطَل

And there is nothing in truth

that is nullified by truth's falsehood.

وَمُجمَلُ القَولِ فيهِ

وَمُجمَلُ القَولِ فيهِ

بَينَ الأَنامِ مُفَصَّل

بَينَ الأَنامِ مُفَصَّل

And the gist of what is said of it

is set out in detail among humankind.

وَكُلُّ مَصروفِ مالٍ

وَكُلُّ مَصروفِ مالٍ

عَلى الوَكيلِ مُكَمَّل

عَلى الوَكيلِ مُكَمَّل

And every expenditure of money

must be made good by the agent.

فَعُذرُ كُلِّ مُضيعٍ

فَعُذرُ كُلِّ مُضيعٍ

لِحافِظٍ لَيسَ يُقبَل

لِحافِظٍ لَيسَ يُقبَل

So every squanderer's excuse

is not accepted by a keeper.
