قُل لِمَن رامَ لِلشَريعَةِ تَتميماً

قُل لِمَن رامَ لِلشَريعَةِ تَتميماً

أَبالنَقصِ يُستَتَمُّ الكَمالُ

أَبالنَقصِ يُستَتَمُّ الكَمالُ

Say to whoever seeks to complete the Sharia:

Say to those who attempt to supplement the Law,

Can perfection be made complete through deficiency?

"Is perfection attained through deficiency?

أَو بِفِكرٍ لا يُستَقَرُّ عَلى حالٍ

أَو بِفِكرٍ لا يُستَقَرُّ عَلى حالٍ

يُرينا عَينُ اليَقينِ خَيالُ

يُرينا عَينُ اليَقينِ خَيالُ

Or, through thought that never settles in one state,

Or through thoughts that settle on no state,

can imagination show us the eye of certainty?

Does the eye of certainty show us a mirage?"
