مُستَقبَلاًwelcomed مِنكَمby you بِحالٍin a state راضِcontented
مُستَقبَلاً مِنكَم بِحالٍ راضِ
Return, and with you bygone time will return,
The past time promises your return
welcomed by you in a state of contentment.
A future that would leave it satisfied
يَشفيheals غَليلَburning longing جَوٍone sick with longing يَبيتُspends the night عَلىon شَفاthe brink
يَشفي غَليلَ جَوٍ يَبيتُ عَلى شَفا
جُرُفِa precipice الرَدىdeath فيduring مُدَّةِthe period الإِعراضِturning away
جُرُفِ الرَدى في مُدَّةِ الإِعراضِ
It will soothe the burning longing of one lovesick, who spends the night on the brink
To cure the rancor of an evening that spends the night
of death’s precipice during the time of estrangement.
