لمdid not يَنَلattain ساكِنٌone resting إِلَيكَin you سُكوناًrepose
لم يَنَل ساكِنٌ إِلَيكَ سُكوناً
حَرَّكَتهُmoved him عَنaway from نَهجِكَyour path الأَهواءُpassions
حَرَّكَتهُ عَن نَهجِكَ الأَهواءُ
No one resting in you has attained repose,
No dweller gains tranquility through you,
whom passions have driven away from your path.
The passions disturb him from your way.
لاno وَلاnor فازَtriumphed بِالوَلاءِthrough allegiance مَحِبُّa lover
لا وَلا فازَ بِالوَلاءِ مَحِبُّ
فاتَهُeluded him مِنfrom عِداthe enemies of وَلاكَallegiance to you البَراءُdisavowal
فاتَهُ مِن عِدا وَلاكَ البَراءُ
No, nor has a lover triumphed through allegiance,
No loving friend has won allegiance,
who failed to disavow the foes of allegiance to you.
From your enmity and separation he strays.
