قَولُthe word الإِلَهِof God جَلَّexalted is He فيin كِتابِهِHis Book
قَولُ الإِلَهِ جَلَّ في كِتابِهِ
عَلىconcerning عَلِيٍّAli جاءَcame نَصّاًas an explicit declaration قاطِعاdecisive
عَلى عَلِيٍّ جاءَ نَصّاً قاطِعا
The word of God—exalted is He—in His Book
came as a decisive declaration concerning Ali:
أَناI الواليthe guardian وَرَسوليand My Messenger وَالَّذيand the one who
أَنا الوالي وَرَسولي وَالَّذي
أَتىgave الزَكاةَalms فيin الصَلاةِprayer راكِعاwhile bowing
أَتى الزَكاةَ في الصَلاةِ راكِعا
I am the guardian, as are My Messenger and the one who
gave alms while bowing in prayer.
فَخَصَّهُthus He singled him out مِنهُfrom Him بِوصَفٍwith a description لَمnot يَكُنwas
فَخَصَّهُ مِنهُ بِوصَفٍ لَم يَكُن
بِغَيرِهِin anyone other than him فيماin what رَوَوهُthey narrated it واقِعاfound
بِغَيرِهِ فيما رَوَوهُ واقِعا
Thus He singled him out with a description from Himself that was not
found in anyone else, according to what they narrated.
فَأَوجَبَthus ordained اللَهُGod لَهُfor him وِلايَةًauthority
فَأَوجَبَ اللَهُ لَهُ وِلايَةً
عَلىover الَّذيthe one who لِلذِكرىof the reminder أَضحىbecame تابِعاa follower
عَلى الَّذي لِلذِكرى أَضحى تابِعا
Thus God ordained authority for him
over whoever became a follower of the reminder.
