أَرانيI see myself مَحبوءاًfavored عَلىin كُلِّevery حالَةٍstate
بِأَقبالِby the approach of مَحبوبيmy beloved عَلىdespite قُبحِthe ugliness of إِدباريmy turning away
I see myself favored in every state,
by my beloved’s turning toward me, despite the ugliness of my turning away.
وَلَمand did not يُخفِهِhide him عَنfrom ناظِريmy sight فيin دُنُوِّهِhis nearness
سِوىexcept لَفتَتيmy turning عَنهُaway from him إِلىtoward طَيفِهِhis phantom الساريroaming by night
And in his nearness, nothing hid him from my sight
save my turning from him toward his night-roaming phantom.
