تَمَتَّع في شَبابِكَ بِالأَماني

تَمَتَّع في شَبابِكَ بِالأَماني

فَما اللِذاتُ إِلّا في الشَبابِ

فَما اللِذاتُ إِلّا في الشَبابِ

Delight in hopes while you are young.

Enjoy your youth with dreams

For pleasures are found only in youth.

For pleasures are only in youth

وَخُذ أَمرَ الهَوى وَدَعِ اللَواحي

وَخُذ أَمرَ الهَوى وَدَعِ اللَواحي

وَبُح بِاِسمِ الحَبيبِ وَلا تُحابي

وَبُح بِاِسمِ الحَبيبِ وَلا تُحابي

And heed love's command, and leave the reproachers.

Take love's path and leave reproaches

And proclaim the beloved's name, and show no partiality.

Speak the beloved's name, do not conceal

فَما حُسنُ الصِبا إِلّا التَهاوي

فَما حُسنُ الصِبا إِلّا التَهاوي

وَلا حُسنُ الهَوى إِلّا التَصابي

وَلا حُسنُ الهَوى إِلّا التَصابي

For youth's beauty is nothing but mutual love.

For youth's beauty is only abandon

And love's beauty is nothing but acting young.

And love's beauty is only intimacy
