أَراني عَنكَ مَحدودُ

أَراني عَنكَ مَحدودُ

وَكَوني فيكَ موجودُ

وَكَوني فيكَ موجودُ

I see myself held apart from You,

and my being is found in You.

وَفي عَرشِكَ لي فَرشٌ

وَفي عَرشِكَ لي فَرشٌ

وَفَوقَ الفَرضِ تَوسيدُ

وَفَوقَ الفَرضِ تَوسيدُ

And in Your Throne I have a bed,

and above prescribed duty is pillowed rest.

وَمَشهودِيَ مِن غَيبِ

وَمَشهودِيَ مِن غَيبِ

كَ يَومٌ بِكَ مَشهودُ

كَ يَومٌ بِكَ مَشهودُ

And what I witness of Your unseen

is a day witnessed through You.

بِهِ الميزانُ مِن فَو

بِهِ الميزانُ مِن فَو

قِ الصِراطِ إِلَيكَ مَمدودُ

قِ الصِراطِ إِلَيكَ مَمدودُ

On it the Balance, from above

the Path, is stretched out toward You.

وَفيهِ الحَشرُ وَالنَشرُ

وَفيهِ الحَشرُ وَالنَشرُ

وَحَوضُ الرَيِّ مَورودُ

وَحَوضُ الرَيِّ مَورودُ

And in it are the Gathering and the Resurrection,

and the thirst-quenching Pool is visited.

وَمِن فَوقِ لِواءِ الحَمدِ

وَمِن فَوقِ لِواءِ الحَمدِ

بَينَ الناسِ مَعقودُ

بَينَ الناسِ مَعقودُ

And from above, the Banner of Praise

is fastened among the people.

لِذا أَيّامي البيضُ

لِذا أَيّامي البيضُ

لِيالي وَصلِكَ السودُ

لِيالي وَصلِكَ السودُ

Thus my white days

are the black nights of union with You.
