فَضَّلتُ بِوُجودي فيكُم كَلَّ واجِدٍ

بِحُبِّكُم يا غايَةَ الحُسنِ وَالحُسنى

بِحُبِّكُم يا غايَةَ الحُسنِ وَالحُسنى

Through my being among you, I surpassed every ardent lover,

Through my being in you, I surpassed every lover

In loving you, O pinnacle of beauty and all that is fairest.

In love for you, O pinnacle of beauty and goodness.

لِأَنَّ الوَرى هاموا بِصورَةِ حُسنِكُم

لِأَنَّ الوَرى هاموا بِصورَةِ حُسنِكُم

عَياناً وَبِالأَخبارِ هِمتُ بِكُم مَعنى

عَياناً وَبِالأَخبارِ هِمتُ بِكُم مَعنى

For all humankind fell madly for the image of your beauty,

For people were enthralled by the form of your beauty

At sight; through tidings, I loved you as pure essence.

Seen directly, while through reports I was enthralled by you in essence.
