وَمَقامَ أَربابِ الغَرامِ وَذِلَّةِ الشاكي

وَمَقامَ أَربابِ الغَرامِ وَذِلَّةِ الشاكي

وَعِزَّةِ مَن إِلَيهِ المُشتَكى

وَعِزَّةِ مَن إِلَيهِ المُشتَكى

And by the station of the masters of passion and the complainant's abasement,

The abode of lovers consumed by passion, and the humility of the plaintive one

and the dignity of the one to whom complaint is made,

The honor of the confidant, to whom complaints are made

وَعُقودِ عَهدِ العاشِقينَ وَمَن غَدا

وَعُقودِ عَهدِ العاشِقينَ وَمَن غَدا

بِعُرى الوُلا في عِشقِهِ مُتَمَسِّكا

بِعُرى الوُلا في عِشقِهِ مُتَمَسِّكا

and the bonds of the lovers' covenant, and whoever has become

The pacts of lovers, and he who holds fast

firmly attached to the bonds of loyalty in his love,

To the rope of devotion in his love

وَدِعايَةِ الداعي إِلى أَهلِ الهَوى

وَدِعايَةِ الداعي إِلى أَهلِ الهَوى

وَإِجابَةِ المَدعُوِّ فيهِ بِالبُكا

وَإِجابَةِ المَدعُوِّ فيهِ بِالبُكا

and the caller's summons to the people of love,

The invocation of the invoker to the people of passion

and the summoned one's response therein with weeping:

And the response of the called among them with weeping

ما حُلتُ عَمّا تَعهَدونَ مِنَ الوَفا

ما حُلتُ عَمّا تَعهَدونَ مِنَ الوَفا

لِكُم وَلا حاوَلتُ عَنكُم مَسلَكا

لِكُم وَلا حاوَلتُ عَنكُم مَسلَكا

I have not departed from the faithfulness you know

I have not been unfaithful to the loyalty you pledged

to you, nor have I sought a path away from you.

To you, nor have I from you sought to turn away
