تَعالَت ذاتُ مَولايَ

تَعالَت ذاتُ مَولايَ

عَنِ الحَيِّزِ وَالوَصفِ

عَنِ الحَيِّزِ وَالوَصفِ

Exalted is the essence of my Lord

My Lord's essence transcends

Above spatial bounds and description,

Space, description and form

وَعَمّا حالَ في الشَكلِ

وَعَمّا حالَ في الشَكلِ

وَما يُلحَظُ بِالطَرفِ

وَما يُلحَظُ بِالطَرفِ

And above whatever changes in form,

Seen by eyes or comprehended

And whatever is perceived by the eye,

By a gnostic's inner sight

وَعَن قَولِ حُلولِيٍّ

وَعَن قَولِ حُلولِيٍّ

حَوى المَقصودَ في الطَرفِ

حَوى المَقصودَ في الطَرفِ

And above the claim of a believer in divine indwelling

It goes beyond what speakers say

Who confined the One sought within the eye.

Or listeners grasp in their minds
