إِنَّindeed الَّذيthe one who تَيَّمَنيenthralled me قُربُهُhis nearness
إِنَّ الَّذي تَيَّمَني قُربُهُ
بُعدٌdistance وَفيand in البُعدِthe distance لَهُfor him قُربُnearness
بُعدٌ وَفي البُعدِ لَهُ قُربُ
Indeed, the one who has enthralled me—his nearness
He whose nearness has brought me good fortune
Is distance, and in distance he has nearness.
Is far, yet in that farness, nearness
كَالشَمسِlike the sun فيin مَغرِبِهاits west (place of setting) شُروقُهاits rising
كَالشَمسِ في مَغرِبِها شُروقُها
كَماjust as لَهاfor it فيin شَرقِهاits east غَربُa west
كَما لَها في شَرقِها غَربُ
Like the sun, whose rising lies in its west,
Like the sun when it sets in the west
Just as, in its east, it has a west.
It rises in the east, as it also sets there
