تَجَلَّتshe revealed herself فَاِنجَلىso became clear نَجميmy star وَبَدريand my full moon
تَجَلَّت فَاِنجَلى نَجمي وَبَدري
وَشَمسيand my sun حينَwhen صارَcame to be لَهاfor her مَغيبُa setting
وَشَمسي حينَ صارَ لَها مَغيبُ
She revealed herself, and my star and full moon became clear,
My moon and my sun and my star
and my sun, when it came to have a setting.
appeared radiant then went afar
فَأَبعَدَهاso he distanced her بِهِthrough it عَنّيfrom me وَمِنهاand from her
فَأَبعَدَها بِهِ عَنّي وَمِنها
أَرانيhe showed me أَنَّهُthat he مِنهاto her قَريبُclose
أَراني أَنَّهُ مِنها قَريبُ
So he distanced her from me through it, and from her
They set me apart from what I hold dear
he showed me that he was close to her.
Yet their image stays with me near
