We have a singer whose face is ugly;
We have a silly singer whose face
His seasonings excel in ugliness.

رامَhe tried غِناءًsinging فَأَبىbut refused صَوتُهُhis voice
رامَ غِناءً فَأَبى صَوتُهُ
فَرامَthen he tried ضَرباًplaying an instrument فَأَبىbut refused زِيرُهhis treble string
فَرامَ ضَرباً فَأَبى زِيرُه
He tried to sing, but his voice refused;
He tried singing but his voice refused,
Then he tried to play, but his treble string refused.
So he tried drumming but his fingers were no use.
