فَفي الطَمَعِ الذُلُّ وَالمَنقَصَه
Turn away from greed; you will gain dignity thereby.
Turn from greed, you grow strong by it
For in covetousness lie humiliation and degradation.
Yet in greed lies humiliation and loss

And never entrust a need
Never let a need drive you
to one who has endured misery and starvation,
To one who’s borne misery and distress

even if, in wealth, he reached the star of night,
Though he take the wealth of a bright star
and put the midmorning sun beneath the arch of his foot.
And trample the sun at dawn’s first light
