مُبدِعٌoriginal فيin شَمائِلِqualities of المَجدِglory خِيماًin character
مُبدِعٌ في شَمائِلِ المَجدِ خِيماً
ماnot اِهتَدَيناwe have found the way لِأَخذِهِto acquiring it وَاِقتِباسِهand emulating it
ما اِهتَدَينا لِأَخذِهِ وَاِقتِباسِه
Original in character among the virtues of glory,
A tent of glory's attributes he's pitched
We have found no way to acquire and emulate it.
We failed to grasp it or take from its light
فَهوَfor he فَظٌّharsh بِالمالِtoward wealth وَقتَat the time of نَداهُhis bounty
فَهوَ فَظٌّ بِالمالِ وَقتَ نَداهُ
وَجَوادٌand generous بِالعَفوِwith pardon فيin وَقتِthe time of باسِهhis might
وَجَوادٌ بِالعَفوِ في وَقتِ باسِه
For he is harsh toward wealth when bestowing his bounty,
Harsh with wealth when called to give
And generous with pardon in the hour of his might.
Yet generous when pardoning those contrite
