يا مُهدِياً لِي بَنَفسَجاً أَرجاً
يَرتاحُdelights صَدريmy breast لَهُin them وَيَنشَرِحُand opens with joy
يَرتاحُ صَدري لَهُ وَيَنشَرِحُ
O you who give me fragrant violets,
O one who brings me fragrant violets
My breast delights in them and opens with joy.
My heart finds rest and opens to them
بِشّرنيbrought me glad tidings عاجِلاًat once مُصحَّفُهُits spelling with altered dots
بِشّرني عاجِلاً مُصحَّفُهُ
بأَنَّof the fact that ضيقَconstriction الأمورِthe affairs يَنفَسِحُopens out
بأَنَّ ضيقَ الأمورِ يَنفَسِحُ
Their name, with its dots altered, at once brought me glad tidings
Give me good news quickly, their manuscript
That straitened affairs would open out.
That tight affairs will unwind
