I would ransom with my life a gazelle who has become beauty's Kaaba,

To which pilgrimage is made from the distant mountain pass, and which is worshipped.

Love for him called me, so I answered willingly,

And I entered pilgrimage consecration with sincerity, and my striving bears witness.

So my eyelid combines the rites of sleeplessness and tears,

And my heart makes longing for him its sole rite.
