تَمّتare complete مَحاسنُهُhis virtues فَماso nothing يُزريdetracts بِهِfrom him
تَمّت مَحاسنُهُ فَما يُزري بِهِ
مَعَwith فَضلِهِhis merit وَسَخائِهِand his generosity وَكَمالِهِand his perfection
مَعَ فَضلِهِ وَسَخائِهِ وَكَمالِهِ
His virtues are complete; nothing detracts from him,
with his merit, generosity, and perfection,
إِلّاexcept قُصورُthe inadequacy وُجودِهِof his means عَنcompared with جُودِهِhis bounty
إِلّا قُصورُ وُجودِهِ عَن جُودِهِ
لاno عَونَaid لِلرَجُلِfor the man الكَريمِgenerous كَمالِهِlike his wealth
لا عَونَ لِلرَجُلِ الكَريمِ كَمالِهِ
except that his means fall short of his bounty.
No aid to a generous man is like his wealth.
اُنصُرsupport أَخاكَyour brother إِنِif اِجتَداكَhe seeks your bounty فَواسِهِthen share with him
اُنصُر أَخاكَ إِنِ اِجتَداكَ فَواسِهِ
وَإِنِand if اِستَغاثَكَhe seeks your help وَاثِقاًtrusting بِكَin you مالِهِassist him
وَإِنِ اِستَغاثَكَ وَاثِقاً بِكَ مالِهِ
Support your brother: if he seeks your bounty, then share with him;
and if he seeks your help, trusting in you, assist him.
