هبه تغيّرَ حائِلاً عَن عَهدِهِ
وَرَمىand struck فُؤاديmy heart بِالصُدودِwith rejection فَأَزعَجاand so distressed it
وَرَمى فُؤادي بِالصُدودِ فَأَزعَجا
Grant that he has changed, turning away from his pledge,
Her gift changed, estranging their bond,
And struck my heart with rejection, leaving it distraught.
