رَوضاً غَدا إِنسانَ عَينِ الباغي
With great care I prepared, for my day of leisure,
I prepared a celebration for my day off
A garden that became the pupil of the seeker's eye.
A garden that will tomorrow please the watcher's eye
رَوضاًa garden يَرُوضُtames هُمُومَthe cares of قَلبيmy heart حُسنُهُits beauty
رَوضاً يَرُوضُ هُمُومَ قَلبي حُسنُهُ

فيهِ لِكَأسِ اللَهوِ أيُّ مَساغِ
A garden whose beauty tames my heart's cares—
A garden that will soothe my heart's worries with its beauty
There, how smoothly the cup of pleasure goes down!
In it is a cup of joy - what a relief!

And when stems of basil appear within it,
And when sprigs of basil appear in it
They wave in greeting like chains of curls at the temples.
They greet like chains around the temples
