فَخرتُهُمُ بِنَفسي أَم نِجاري
I find that whenever I vie in boasting with a people,
Whenever I boast to a tribe,
I outdo them through my own self or my lineage.
do I boast with my own self or just compete?

Take my account of it concerning the fear of a foe
Take the news from me, out of fear of disgrace -
Who openly shows defiance, and the safety of a neighbor.
He contends stubbornly, yet dwells safely.
