A young man's life is his renown, not the length of his years.
A young man’s life is his reputation, not his lifespan’s length,
And his death is his disgrace, not his approaching day.
And his death is his disgrace, not the day he passes.
فَأَحيso bring to life ذِكرَكyour memory بِالإِحسانِthrough goodness تُودِعُهُyou instill in it
فَأَحي ذِكرَك بِالإِحسانِ تُودِعُهُ

تَجمع بِذَلِكَ في الدُنيا حَياتانِ
So keep your memory alive through the goodness you instill in it;
So keep your reputation alive through kindness; entrust it
thereby you unite two lives in this world.
And you will, through this, unite two lives in this world.
