The finest days of a young man
The finest days for a young man
are those when he is called young.
Are those of which tales are told
شَبابُهُhis youth مِنof فِضَّةٍsilver
شَبابُهُ مِن فِضَّةٍ
وَالشَيبُand gray hair فيهاin it خُبُثُdross
وَالشَيبُ فيها خُبُثُ
His youth is silver,
His youth is like silver
and gray hair is dross within it.
While old age in those days is vile
