O you whom your hair has afflicted,
O you whose cheek is graced
And who were tender and beardless,
By hair as soft as silk,
سِيّانَit is all the same فاجأَtook by surprise أَمرَداًa beardless youth
فيon الخَدِّthe cheek شَعرٌhair أَمor رَدىdeath
It is all the same whether a beardless youth is suddenly struck
Your cheeks took me by surprise,
By hair on his cheek or by death.
Are those locks, or trails of milk?
