The leather strap held a life, so I said: 'Embrace
The days have harbored a life, so I said: Be content
contentment with fate, and harbor no resentment.
With fate's decree and harbor no discontent;
فإِمّاfor if اِحتَقَدتَyou resented قَضاءَthe decree of الإِلهِGod
فإِمّا اِحتَقَدتَ قَضاءَ الإِلهِ
فَأَخسِرthen how great the loss بِمُحتَقِدٍof a resentful person تَحتَbeneath قِدa leather strap
فَأَخسِر بِمُحتَقِدٍ تَحتَ قِد
For if you resent God's decree,
For if you're angry at what God has sent
then how great the loss of a resentful man beneath a strap!'
You lose, harboring discontent, your life thus spent.
