يَومَ يَقول الرَسول قَد أَذنَت

يَومَ يَقول الرَسول قَد أَذنَت

فأت عَلى غَيرِ رِقبَةٍ وَلِجِ

فأت عَلى غَيرِ رِقبَةٍ وَلِجِ

On the day the messenger says, 'She has given permission;

The day the Messenger said, "I permit you,

so come without fear, and enter,'

Come without constraint, hasten!

أَقبَلتُ أَهوى إِلى رحالِهمُ

أَقبَلتُ أَهوى إِلى رحالِهمُ

أَهدى إِلَيها بريحِها الأَرجِ

أَهدى إِلَيها بريحِها الأَرجِ

I came rushing toward their dwellings,

I went, desiring their departure,

guided to her by her fragrant scent.

Giving it its scent of basil.
