بَعَثتُI sent بِالمُرسِلwith the messenger اِنبِساطاin friendly confidence
بَعَثتُ بِالمُرسِل اِنبِساطا
مِنّيfrom me عَلىrelying on خَلقِكyour character الجَميلِfine
مِنّي عَلى خَلقِك الجَميلِ
I sent with the messenger, in friendly confidence,
I sent a message of goodwill
relying, for my part, on your fine character,
From me to your beautiful creation
نَزراًa small amount حَقيراًpaltry فَفيهso in it يأتيappears
نَزراً حَقيراً فَفيه يأتي
فَضلُكَyour generosity فيin العُذرpardon وَالقَبولِand acceptance
فَضلُكَ في العُذر وَالقَبولِ
a small, paltry gift; in this is revealed
A meager gift, yet in it comes
your generosity in pardon and acceptance.
Your grace in pardon and acceptance
لَوif أَنَّهُthat it مُهجَتيmy lifeblood لَكانَتthen it would be
لَو أَنَّهُ مُهجَتي لَكانَت
تَصغُرbe small فيbeside قَدرِكَyour worth الجَليلِexalted
تَصغُر في قَدرِكَ الجَليلِ
Were it my very lifeblood, it would still
If it were my love, it would be
be small beside your exalted worth.
