وَلَهُ في النَفس أَعلى مَجلِسِ

O you whose seat is lower than mine,

yet who hold the highest seat within my soul,

بِفؤادي لك حُبُّ يَقتَضي

بِفؤادي لك حُبُّ يَقتَضي

أَن تُرى تُحمَلُ فَوقَ الأرؤسِ

أَن تُرى تُحمَلُ فَوقَ الأرؤسِ

in my heart is a love for you that demands

that you be seen borne above people's heads.
