لِلَّهِfor God! (expressing admiration) ساقٍa cupbearer مُهَفهَفslender غَنجcoquettish
لِلَّهِ ساقٍ مُهَفهَف غَنج
قامَhe rose لِيَسقيto give drink فَجاءَand then he came بِالعَجَبِwith a marvel
قامَ لِيَسقي فَجاءَ بِالعَجَبِ
How splendid the slender, coquettish cupbearer!
He rose to pour, and brought a marvel.
أَهدىhe gave as a gift لَناto us مِنfrom لَطيفِsubtle حِكمَتِهِhis wisdom
أَهدى لَنا مِن لَطيفِ حِكمَتِهِ
فيwithin جامِدsolidified الماءِthe water ذائِبَmolten الذَهَبِthe gold
في جامِد الماءِ ذائِبَ الذَهَبِ
From his subtle wisdom, he gave us
Molten gold within solidified water.
