شِعرُpoetry of مَنone whose مَحضُpure وُدّهhis affection
شِعرُ مَن مَحضُ وُدّه
لَكَfor you فيin عِلمِknowledge of طَيرهِhis birds
لَكَ في عِلمِ طَيرهِ
The poetry of one whose pure affection
The poetry of one whose only concern
is yours lies in the lore of his birds;
Is to know the ways of birds
فَهيَso they مَهماhowever زَجَرتَهاyou read their omens
فَهيَ مَهما زَجَرتَها
لَمnot تُخَبِّرtell بِغَيرهِof anything other than it
لَم تُخَبِّر بِغَيرهِ
so, however you read their omens,
However much you chide them
they tell of nothing else.
Will tell of nothing else
