Like the pouring morning rainclouds.
Are like the valleys' foothills.

My soul's accustomed to hunt
To hunting lions.
Lions in their lairs and beds.

For whoever travels at evening or morning.
Or news from a coming raid.

With fine-edged, sharp swords.
With keenest blades that hone.

إِن لَم نَكُن أُسدَ غَيلٍ

If we are not lions of a thicket,
If we're not cave lions roaring,
We shall be wild-ox calves of a valley.
We are vipers of the sand.
