كَلامُكَyour speech مُلتَبِسٌambiguous لاnot يَبينُis clear

Your speech is ambiguous; it is not clear,
like writing neglected by the letter-dotter.
نَصَحتُكَI advised you لاdo not تَعتَرِفacknowledge ياO أُخَيّmy little brother
بيme (literally: with me) فَأَناfor I الرَجُلُthe man الساقِطُfallen; worthless
I advised you, my little brother: do not acknowledge
me, for I am a fallen man.
وَلَوand even if كُنتُI were مُلقىًcast down بِظَهرِon the surface of الطَريقِthe road
لَمwould not يَلتَقِطpick up مِثليone like me اللاقِطُthe gatherer
And even if I were cast upon the road,
no gatherer would pick up one like me.
