تَفَوَّهَ دَهرُكُم عَجَباً فَأُصغوا

تَفَوَّهَ دَهرُكُم عَجَباً فَأُصغوا

إِلى ما ظَلَّ يُخبِرُ يا شُهودُ

إِلى ما ظَلَّ يُخبِرُ يا شُهودُ

Your age has uttered a marvel, so listen

To what it keeps reporting, O witnesses.

إِذا اِفتَكَرَ الَّذينَ لَهُم عُقولٌ

إِذا اِفتَكَرَ الَّذينَ لَهُم عُقولٌ

رَأَوا نَبَأً يَحُقُّ لَهُ السُهودُ

رَأَوا نَبَأً يَحُقُّ لَهُ السُهودُ

When those endowed with reason reflect,

They see tidings that warrant sleeplessness.

غَدا أَهلُ الشَرائِعِ في اِختِلافٍ

غَدا أَهلُ الشَرائِعِ في اِختِلافٍ

تُقَضُّ بِهِ المَضاجِعُ وَالمُهودُ

تُقَضُّ بِهِ المَضاجِعُ وَالمُهودُ

The adherents of religious laws have fallen into discord,

By which beds and cradles are disturbed.

فَقَد كَذَبَت عالى عيسى النَصارى

فَقَد كَذَبَت عالى عيسى النَصارى

كَما كَذَبَت عَلى موسى اليَهودُ

كَما كَذَبَت عَلى موسى اليَهودُ

For Christians have lied about Jesus,

Just as Jews have lied about Moses.

وَلَم تَستَحدِثُ الأَيّامُ خُلُقاً

وَلَم تَستَحدِثُ الأَيّامُ خُلُقاً

وَلا حالَت مِنَ الزَمَنِ العُهودُ

وَلا حالَت مِنَ الزَمَنِ العُهودُ

And the days have introduced no new character,

Nor have the epochs of time changed.
