أَبَيتُمyou have refused سِوىexcept مَينٍfalsehood وَخُلفٍand promise-breaking وَغِلظَةٍand harshness
أَبَيتُم سِوى مَينٍ وَخُلفٍ وَغِلظَةٍ
فَلَيسَso there is no لِوَعدٍfor a promise فيin الجَميلِkindness نُجوزُfulfillment
فَلَيسَ لِوَعدٍ في الجَميلِ نُجوزُ
You have refused everything but lies, broken promises, and harshness.
You refuse anything but malice, betrayal, and harshness
So no promise of kindness reaches fulfillment.
So a promise of kindness receives no credence
وَإِنَّand indeed الَّذيthat which تَحكونَyou recount لَيسَis not بِجائِزٍadmissible
وَإِنَّ الَّذي تَحكونَ لَيسَ بِجائِزٍ
وَلَكِنbut سِواهُsomething other than it فيin القِياسِanalogical reasoning يَجوزُis admissible
وَلَكِن سِواهُ في القِياسِ يَجوزُ
And indeed, what you recount is not admissible.
And what you recount cannot be justified
But something other than it is admissible by analogy.
Yet by other measures it might be excused
