مَتىwhenever تَشرَكyou take a partner مَعَalongside اِمرَأَةٍa woman سِواهاsomeone other than her
مَتى تَشرَك مَعَ اِمرَأَةٍ سِواها
فَقَدthen indeed أَخطَأتَyou have erred فيin الرَأيِthe judgment التَريكِthe feeble
فَقَد أَخطَأتَ في الرَأيِ التَريكِ
Whenever you take another partner alongside a woman,
you have erred in your feeble judgment.
فَلَوfor if يُرجىgood could be hoped for مَعَwith الشُرَكاءِthe partners خَيرٌgood
فَلَو يُرجى مَعَ الشُرَكاءِ خَيرٌ
لَماthen ... would not كانَbe الإِلَّهُGod بِلاwithout شَريكِa partner
لَما كانَ الإِلَّهُ بِلا شَريكِ
For if any good could be hoped for from having partners,
God would not be without a partner.
