مَتّىwhen ماever (emphatic) تُخالِطyou mingle with عالَمَthe world of الإِنسِhumankind لاnot يَزَلcease
مَتّى ما تُخالِط عالَمَ الإِنسِ لا يَزَل
بِسَمعِكَin your hearing وَقرٌheaviness مِنfrom مَقالِthe speech of سَفيهِa fool
بِسَمعِكَ وَقرٌ مِن مَقالِ سَفيهِ
Whenever you mingle with humankind, there will always be
A heaviness in your hearing from a fool's speech.
إِذاif ماemphatic particle الفَتىthe young man لَمdoes not يَرمِassail شَخصَكَyour person عامِداًdeliberately
إِذا ما الفَتى لَم يَرمِ شَخصَكَ عامِداً
بِكَفَّيهِwith his two hands عَنout of ضَغنٍspite رَماكَhe assails you بِفيهِwith his mouth
بِكَفَّيهِ عَن ضَغنٍ رَماكَ بِفيهِ
If a young man does not deliberately assail you
With his two hands out of spite, he assails you with his mouth.
وَقَدand indeed عَلِمَknows اللَهُGod اِعتِقاديmy belief وَإِنَّنيand indeed I
وَقَد عَلِمَ اللَهُ اِعتِقادي وَإِنَّني
أَعوذُI seek refuge بِهِin Him مِنfrom شَرِّthe evil of ماwhat أَناI فيهِin it
أَعوذُ بِهِ مِن شَرِّ ما أَنا فيهِ
And God knows my belief, and indeed I
Seek refuge in Him from the evil of the state I am in.
