Whatever your Lord wills, He does, being all-powerful.
Whatever your Lord wills He performs with power. He transcends all speech and objection. We gathered without guidance and dispersed without accord. We relinquished testimonies of piety, then faced decline and extinction. Our bodies borrowed health and relied on sickness and disease.
He is exalted above every utterance and objection.
قَدindeed تَجَمَّعناwe gathered عَلىon غَيرِother than هُدىًguidance
قَد تَجَمَّعنا عَلى غَيرِ هُدىً
وَتَفَرَّقناand we parted عَلىon غَيرِother than تَراضِmutual consent
وَتَفَرَّقنا عَلى غَيرِ تَراضِ
We have indeed gathered without guidance,
And we parted without mutual consent.

ثُمَّthen صِرناwe came لِزَوالٍto dissolution وَاِنقِراضِand extinction
ثُمَّ صِرنا لِزَوالٍ وَاِنقِراضِ
And we exchanged attestations of piety,
Then we came to dissolution and extinction.

And our bodies borrowed health,
And sought aid through sickly affections.
