    Wealth is contained in the bounty of whoever gives it freely.

    Indeed, noble deeds are wealth for benefactors.

    فَلا تَشينَنكَ بَعدَ المَوتِ أَقوالُ

    And speech, if it endures, is reckoned a young man's legacy;

    So let no words disgrace you after death.

    فَما تَدومُ عَلى الأَحوالِ أَحوالُ

    A state and a year were created to pass away;

    For no state endures through the years.

    And glory is like sustenance: this one has attained riches from it,

    While that one's lack of it is poverty.

    One does not amass merit; rather, eminence is bestowed. Rajab

    Has tribute levied for war, while Shawwal is granted the feast of fast-breaking.
