    Three days for peoples at odds,

    Yet the Muslims' view is the sound one.

    The Christian regards Sunday as a feast day for his people,

    And our Friday is a feast day for us, and the Sabbath for you.

    كَذَلِكَ نَبتُ الأَرضِ يَخلُفُهُ النَبتُ

    And people are nothing but successors after predecessors;

    Likewise, the earth's growth is succeeded by growth.

    When a person reflects on the matter of his religion,

    A report emerges that turns reason back, and with it comes humiliation.

    Is there, then, any news of souls whose delegation has departed

    to God, while the lowland is inhabited by their bodies?
