هَذا طَريقٌ لِلهُدى لا حِبُ

يَرضى بِهِ المَصحوبُ وَالصاحِبُ

This is a clear path to guidance;

أَهرُب مِنَ الناسِ فَإِن جِئتُهُم

فَمِثلَ سَأبٍ جَرَّهُ الساحِبُ

فَمِثلَ سَأبٍ جَرَّهُ الساحِبُ

I flee from people; for if I come to them,

Then I am like a large skin-bag dragged by its hauler.

يَنتَفِعُ الناسُ بِما عِندَهُ

يَنتَفِعُ الناسُ بِما عِندَهُ

وَهوَ لَقىً بَينَهُم شاحِبُ

وَهوَ لَقىً بَينَهُم شاحِبُ

People benefit from what it holds,

People benefit from what he has

While it lies discarded among them, pallid.

While he is shrunken among them
