مِنَamong الناسِthe people مَنone who لَفظُهُhis speech لُؤلُؤٌpearls
مِنَ الناسِ مَن لَفظُهُ لُؤلُؤٌ
يُبادِرُهُhastens to it اللَقطُgathering إِذwhen يُلفَظُit is uttered
يُبادِرُهُ اللَقطُ إِذ يُلفَظُ
Some people's words are pearls,
Some people's words are like pearls
Eagerly gathered as soon as they are uttered.
That are eagerly caught when uttered
وَبَعضُهُمُand some of them قَولُهُhis speech كَالحَصىlike pebbles
وَبَعضُهُمُ قَولُهُ كَالحَصى
يُقالُit is spoken فَيُلغىthen it is discarded وَلاand not يُحفَظُit is remembered
يُقالُ فَيُلغى وَلا يُحفَظُ
And others' words are like pebbles,
While others' speech is like pebbles
Spoken, then discarded and not remembered.
Said then forgotten, not preserved
