جاءَت أَحاديثُ إِن صَحَّت فَإِنَّ لَها

جاءَت أَحاديثُ إِن صَحَّت فَإِنَّ لَها

شَأناً وَلَكِنَّ فيها ضُعفَ إِسنادِ

Reports have come; if authentic, they have

Rumors have reached me, if true they are important

significance, but their chain of transmission is weak.

But their chains of narration are weak.

فَشاوِرِ العَقلَ وَاِترُك غَيرَهُ هَدَراً

فَشاوِرِ العَقلَ وَاِترُك غَيرَهُ هَدَراً

فَالعَقلُ خَيرُ مُشيرٍ ضَمَّهُ النادي

فَالعَقلُ خَيرُ مُشيرٍ ضَمَّهُ النادي

So consult reason and discard all else as worthless,

Consult reason, and leave the rest as nonsense -

for reason is the best counselor the assembly has embraced.

Reason is the best advisor, frequented by the elite.
