ياO نَفسُsoul جِسمُكِyour body سِربالٌa garment لَهُit has خَطَرٌworth
وَماand not يُبَدِّلُis exchanged فيin حالٍany circumstance بِسِربالِfor a garment
O soul, your body is a garment of worth,
O soul, your body is a garment that is endangered
And in no circumstance is it exchanged for another garment.
And does not change with any condition to another garment
قَدalready أَخلَقَتهُhave worn it out اللَياليthe nights فَاِترُكيهِso leave it لَقىًcast aside
فَماfor not يَزينُكِadorns you لُبسُwearing المُخَلقِthe threadbare الباليthe worn-out
The nights have worn it out, so leave it cast aside;
The nights have made it old, so leave it worn out
For wearing the threadbare and worn-out does not adorn you.
For the wearing of decrepit garb does not adorn you
فَإِنso if خَرَجتِyou depart إِلىinto بُؤسيmisery فَواthen oh حَرَجيmy anguish
وَإِنand if نُقِلتِyou are carried إِلىinto نُعمىbliss فَطوبىthen blessedness ليfor me
So if you depart into misery—oh, my anguish!
If you go out to my misery, then woe is my plight!
And if you are carried into bliss, then blessed am I!
And if you are transferred to my bliss, then blessed am I!
