O parting of my hair, why have you not grown white with time?

For it did not please me that you remained pitch-black.

It is unseemly for an old man's temple hair to resemble in color

a young man's temple hair—and God knows that.

So away with this body, O soul, as a path,

and away with this soul, O body, as a traveler!

You two joined together, and the union brought forth from you

    marvels that were men's undoing.
